Only 5 heifers, 9 bulls. :devil2:

Is it alive? The other two lock n load bull calves would be better for a person with a smaller operation.
Your count should be 5 heifers, 8 bulls and 1 steer.

He is out there running circles this morning. Lively fellow.

You mean that 123 pound behemoth? I told you, I am going to break him for draft as an oxen.

Yes the oxen for sure, and probably a few more but time will tell how many. You know the bulls that are better than the others. But you'll make an excuse, and you will find a buyer, and they'll be nice but one or two will out shine all the others.

I couldn't agree more. Those big heifers are going to be big cows and under you management their calves could be huge. So what is your take lock n load? And do you plan on using him again?

On Lock N Load, he throws a lot of white. He put a nice blaze on that calf above out of a cow that normally does not put white on her calf. His calves are nice. A bit more frame than some might like. I do plan to use him on a couple during my breeding season that begins at Thanksgiving.

I'd leave that 123lbs calf a bull. Up here the commercial guys would like him. Although up here is calves might be a lot bigger which is too big...

No, us commercial guys didn't like bulls with high birthweight. I don't know where you get that idea that "we" prefer a bull with high birthweight...

I love our 1143y calves so far. Not sure where Ron is seeing frame on 4 week old calves, but ours are blocks, with broad white blazes.
I had another Shell Shocked calf last night. First calf heifer (Broker), he was 12 days early and 48.2 pounds. I told ron to use him this fall, if he can't bring down his birthweights, nothing can!

This calf is long legged. I was using the term loosely.
