We started out with 48 heifers. The season started out bad, really bad. Lost the first 4 calves. All born easily, all found dead. We figured the heifers did not get up right away and the bag was still on the calf, so they suffocated. Brought all the heifers closer to the corral and kept the ones ready to calf in the corral. Saved 3 from suffocation. The rest were born fine. I have 2 left. This heifer is the most brangusy of all of them. Her mother must have been very old to have this much ear on her. She's not ready yet, but soon i'll be moving her to the corral. The more angusy gal behind her will go in too. I'm always a more relaxed person once all the heifers have calved. Between them being ignorant and the vultures, there is no chillaxing going on in my house..
