Pre sale valuation was 1.2 - 1.6 billion
It's not a done deal, but rumors are 2.01 billion by former Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer after Oprah stopped at 2 billion.
Auctions: 9 times out of 10 the 'winning bid' is when everyone else agrees it's too much to pay.
I don't understand it...but then again pro basketball is close to the bottom of the list of things I'd ever follow.

All the other owners said CHA CHING. Because this sale raises all of their values. It's worth what people want to pay.

Fancy cars and mansions are for the millionaires. These bored billionaire egos are all about owning sports franschises and you better grab them when you can because they don't go up for sale often

I'm with Caustic... you can throw the MBA and NHL into it too.. Heck, tennis, curling etc etc etc can go too, which will leave TSN with a whole lot more time to show POKER as a sport... GAH!

They all have been elevated to idol status and worshiped and placed above the
moral or criminal law.
Most can't even put a cohesive sentence together when interviewed.

I always get a kick out of their speeches when they lose.. and they glue together a bunch of canned phrases on what they have to do better next time.

Keep in mind the Milwaukee Bucks sold for 500 MIllion!!!! Yikes. Milwaukee has to easily be one of the bottom 3 or 4 markets in the league. Yes, the whole scandal could have been staged, but the price isn't as bad as one may think if the lowly Bucks went for half a billion. I could easily name off 8-10 teams that are worth at least double what the Bucks are. I agree the NBA's product is far from it's Jordan era and before that, and also way behind the NFL. But this is all about money. Not sure who is buying up all these tickets in the arenas to make these owners and players tons of money, just know for myself it's a real bad display of sport with the 'personalities' and one-on-one foundation they have built within the actual game.

Come on now Nesi you can't leave me hanging on this one, what's controversial about curling. To much trash talk in the sport these days?

Deepsouth, OK, forget curling (I really don't think about it either).

How about Golf!.. As Carlin once said.. "It's like watching flies f%$k".. He's about right, but I guess at that time poker wasn't considered a sport by TSN

If the Clipper are worth 2 bill the Cowboys are probably worth 6 bill. Dang it now I will never be able to buy Jerry out

I really think the cowboys would be a great investment. Wouldn't take a season or two and you could put together a winning team. That's something Jerry can't do.
