1995 f250

I have a chance to buy a 1995 f250 with an automatic 5.8l. This one would be towing a 16ft bumper pull stock trailer. Any opinions on this truck? Thanks!

How far would you have to haul?

Any major roads or highways?

How often would it be full vs hauling a couple head here and there?

Mostly flat terrain with some hills or through mountains?

5..8 is a little over 348 CI, and people pulled 16 ft bp and gn cattle trailers all over the place with 3/4 tons that had 350s and 351s in them around here. And we are a little more hilly here in NW Ga than y'all are there, bet. Probably won't get any speeding tickets, and probably can't use OD when loaded, though.

The 5.8L is a 351W. Won't get anywhere in a hurry but it'll get you there. It's a 30yo truck so chances are it's been around the block a few times.

My only complaint about the
F150 and F250 of that Era is the twin traction beam front axle. Not the best and brightest engineering design.

I've got a '96 F250 with 5.8l and a 5 speed. Had it for a good while but recently starting going through it and getting it back in good shape. Great truck and really tough. It pulls ok but nothing like the trucks today. The twin Ibeam works fine as long as you maintain it which is pretty easy to do. Parts are reasonable for these trucks as well.
