Got done baling my first cutting of hay on saturday about 1:45pm
baled 1973 bales gonna take this week off and move some hay and ship calves got about 700 bales still to move
then next week gonna start on 2nd cutting and hopefully if we get any rain the week after that I can cut and bale my millet

Glad somebody is making hay, I have baled one field and it was pitiful, layed one down yesterday and had crainal rectal inversion, low moving in tomorrow off the Gulf. Have four more needing to be cut and this is first cutting, should be third.

I would take 73 at this point! We should be well on the 2nd cutting this far in, but we're just about to cut the 1st - July 12th - we've never cut that late before. Unless we get an inch of rain per week now through November, which would give us two more nice cuttings, I have a feeling it will be a tough hay year.

By the way, after baling 1973 bales, you deserve some time off!

we moved a little over 700 bales this week, built a pad for a new haybarn, weighed and shipped a pot load of calves, hung a couple more gates in the corrals, moved cows and a bunch more small things that I just can't think of right now
