What do you think? He said he put new bearings in it.

M-5 I noticed the same thing right when I seen it.... For 2200 you could get a nice offset disk at a farm sale here. HD I wish I could have helped you get all the stuff you needed while here I would have even sold you some good stuff at cost.

Can't see enough to know but cylinders and hoses aren't a big expense
Couple hundred bucks
But based that he skimped on the final finishes, I'd be very wary of the bearing and disc.
The pita of just changing out bearings would be a problem for me.
I can't tell disc size but cheap thin blades break and don't wear for ****.
I'd check that real close.
I don't think spools and scrapers would be problem to find.

Biggest thing is knowing what he used to rebuild it.
You can buy a wore out piece of equipment and rebuild it yourself if your willing to put in the labor.
I can source you disc, bearings and cylinders.

Price isn't bad though
Might be worth it
Run it till its breaks and rebuild it right
If you have the time to rebuild it

Nothing very close. That's in Tejas.

Leave it where it`s at the bearings are a real pain to put in and cost twice as much as the newer ones. I had one 20 years ago and was glad to get rid of it.

A 14' harrow will push the limits on 85hp tractor if you tote the wheels. 12' would be about the biggest I could use here. My 100 HP handles a 15' well. We are sandy loam and my 70hp JD 2wd can only handle 10' without spinning down .

Like M-5 said 85hp won't pull that much disk. It wouldn't pull that second one you have a picture of if you put the wheels up. Offset 8' and 10' on a good heavy tandem that cuts especially if you are going to put a drag behind it. Less if you have hills or deep soil. Would pull 12' if you just want to scratch the ground to seed but probably not if you want it to cut. Watch farm sales unless you need it now they can be had cheap if your patient. Also watch for a pulvamulcher if you are working ground to smooth it up.

That disc could be bought for about 14-1600 at a sale " Here " sometimes cheaper depending on where you are when its being sold at a dealer they jack the prices up then regional pricing comes into play. Just like the sale we went too I buy stuff cheap clean it up fix it then sell it but if that disc were to be sold by me if I changed the bearings discs and did a lot of work it may go that high.

Just like what was said you wouldn't be able to drop that disc all the way down

I'll be at an equipment auction tomorrow and Saturday. You can buy a good disc here for $1,500. and usually they'll be at least 5 or 6 for sale. Shop around there's plenty of deals out there.

I have disc exactly like the one in original post minus the new paint. It will scratch the dirt and level with drag will not do major cutting like in a sod field. Pulls really easy, we used a tl90a and even a wore 6635 couple times. New paint on old stuff scares me. Changing bearings was not that big of pita.

My Dad had one just about like that. My brother stole it from him.
