We have 4 yr old Maine Anjou cow, just had her first (we think) calf with us today. Had to pull him...around 4pm...about 130lb. Mama is up and has licked on him. He's not up. We tried to lift and stand him, no legs...so We tubed colostrum at 5pm. (he wouldnt suck) He's weak and not trying to get up. We've got them in a spacious open stall...together...she's definately bonded... What do we do now?

well, I've read alot of older posts, and think we'll just keep giving him some TLC ...try to help him stand....and give him a bottle every few hours until we can get him up...
any other suggestions would be apprecitated...

What dun said. And, get a square bale, or something you can straddle him over that will support him and put him over it for a few minutes whenever you are going out to feed him. Otherwise, just TLC. Good luck.

He still needs colostrum NOT milk until he is 24 hours old ...also give him a shot of selenium, b12 and A&D.
Some TLC and he will walk when he gets a little stronger. Hard pulls of lrg calves make them stupid for a few days.

Your cow needs to hit the road.

No legs!?! Wow!
I know what you mean, but it brings up all those corny old jokes:

Q.What do you call a cow with no legs?
A-1. Ground Beef
A-2. Doesn't matter what you call 'em, they won't come.

Q. Where do you find a calf with no legs?
A. Right where you left him.

There's a bunch more, but for now...I'll spare you.
