10 years ago today Facebook started. Do any of you use it, and are you friends with anyone on CT?

I don't use facebook I look at it like this if I lost touch with you it happened for a reason and I don't want you tracking me down knowing all my business and family friends etc :lol:

I have it. I look at it. I DON"T post and tell everyone when I have a BM though.

the ones I have personal contact with can choose to friend me if they like. I would rather carry on a private personal conversation with them via Text, PM, email or phone

I don't use it myself. But there is 1 local Salebarn that uses it for there market report so I do look at that about once a week, other than that I wouldn't know it was there.

I (finally) signed onto it about a year and a half ago. It has been nice to be able to keep up with distant (as in miles) family and friends with photos and such. It is not at all what I thought it would be. Long conversations, private, etc are still conducted through e-mail or phone calls and the occasional PM through FB.

As of right now, I have no CT friends through FB, but that could change.

It can be a helpful tool with regard to business.

I get on it once in awhile. Re-connected with some old friends on there. Also keep track of the doin's of some far flung family members by their FB posts. A lot of the younger folks post way too much, who cares what they had for dinner and not interested in their drama, but just ignore that stuff and look for what I am interested in.

I have it. Mostly I just check in to see what my daughters are up to as they are semi regular users. I rarely post anything there. There is one person from CT who is one of my friends on FB.

I do Facebook. My High School class communicates on Facebook. That's fun. Really, if I could only have one social media it would be Twitter.

No, never have and won't ever. CT and only a couple others is the closest I come to "social media".
Everyone else I know has my ph# or address--they can call or write a letter. If I don't answer,better call back cuz I don't view or listen to texts or voicemails. I haven't looked at my email in many months--may not even still have a valid email client for all I know.
If I meet you on the highway, I might wave--might not, but if ya need somthing, flag me down.

With the drought we're in here, a few vegans have been attacking ranchers in our area over the condition of their cattle including pictures plastered all over facebook and our side hasn't had anyone respond with a coherent message that would convince anyone that ranchers aren't ignorant as charged.

Waste of your time.
It goes with drought unfortunately. People trying their best and you can still drive down the highways and see wrecks.

I log on every few months, very slow to use and too complicated a set-up for my brain to understand. Sometimes someone's posted a photo or comment that makes the effort worth it.

You don't have to text anymore CB. They got this app that you can just talk into your phone and it will type out what you are saying and then all you have to do is press send and it will send a text message. With the breakthroughs in science I wouldn't be surprised that in a few years you will just be able to speak in you phone and the person on the other end will be able to hear you and texting will become obsolete.

I don't do Facebook but my kids do and for Christmas I gave my mom a tablet and we set her up with a Facebook account so she can see what the kids are doing. Also gave her one of those digital frames so she can download any pictures of the kids and display them in the frame. She is really enjoying the setup and I'm surprised at how quick she took to it but she still likes the phone calls.

I don't Facebook and won't ever. My wife has an account and my mom has an account. There's is only one reason I have to look at something on my wife's account...... Here's a typical sernerio.

My mom uses facebook to look at the pics of her grandchildren and great grand kids. She calls me, upset at what one of my kids or their wife has posted a picture of. I go to my wife and ask her to get on Facebook so I can see why my mom is so upset, my wife says I knew this was going to happen! I look at the picture and then call my son," son, did you realize you guys posted a picture of you, your wife and another couple in the bar?" yea dad? Do you realize in the picture there are 27 empty drink glasses and beer bottles on your table? Oh! Really that many? Your grandma is blowing a gasket, please fix it.

Her other grand kids post the same type of things, not realizing what they post and how many people will see it ....... I love facebook. :roll:

How much will you give for a rotary phone. I got one and it my backup when one of these new land phones quit. Should have seen my kids trying to use it when they were younger. It's got a 25 ` wall cord and a about a 15` phone cord.
