Lil Red Riding Hood ???

Trying to remember. That was the Beatles, Beach Boys, Fifth Dimension, even the Stones.

How about Green Berets? That was a favorite about then too.
 
backhoeboogie got it! I was out in the tractor today listening to the Fort Worth oldies station and shed a few tears when I heard Green Berets,#1 song in 1966 on March 6th. Thought about the friends I lost in Nam and all the young men of today giving thier all.

Lucky me I guess. That was a favorite song for a yong boy. I was a bit too young to have close friends off in Nam but my older siblings lost some close ones.
 
Mahoney Purselley, Who was the artist who sang Green Berets? I wished I would have heard it. Was it on 92.5?

Been singing the song since I first read this post, it'll be stuck in my head all day.
 
I was knee high to a grasshopper when that song came out, but I still remember it well, Dad would have it turned up on the AM radio.
 
We were talking about this song today and a guy pulled out a CD "20 Greatest Hits" from 1966. (guess the conversation was based on this post from yesterday)
