07' Calves

Here are the pics that I have of my sister's and I's calves. I already have a topic on just mine but I decided to make a new one for both steers. They'll be coming home this weekend. Tell us exactly what you do and don't like.

This is Butterscotch, my sister's steer. We're not sure exactly what he weighs yet. He was actually a twin, but his brother was kept as a bull.

He's small but it's my sister's first year doing a calf and our 4-h adviser said he'll finish out at about 1,100-1,250 range.

Here's some pics of my steer. I haven't named him yet though.

He's supposed to finish in the 1,250-1,350 range.

Our 4-h advisor said that he's a high show quality steer. He's out of a show bull and his mom and grandmom were both AI calves.

I like the charolais better, but I really like my smokey calves, so what can I say.

They both look OK. I like the muscle on yours. How do you plan to break them?

We plan calm them down before we start halter breaking them. Once we're ready to halter break them we'll put them in a smaller pen and rub the halter on them. Then'll we'll go from there. We'll proably work with them 15-30 minutes to start with then we'll go up from there.

The lighter steer isn't a charolais, he's an angus simmental cross.
