Most of the time when they do any thing around the fuel tank they just pull the bed off.

If you're asking how to switch from one tank to the other it is supposed to be automatic but chevy had a problem with that system. A friend of mine has an 07 chevy with that setup and you HAVE to shut the truck off when fueling or it will read low fuel and only draw from the front tank. You can go to the dealership and they can easily reset it for you, they said it is a common problem on the 07, not sure about the 05.
