Does anyone know of a website or a mathmatical equation on figuring the break even point of feeder cattle. Looking to buy a few feeder cattle and wondering what price will still make a profit. Anyone have any knowledge on contracting cattle please feel free I am open to any information.

We had some calves do the same thing. The vets called it quick pnuemonia and it could be cured if given a shot of penicillin as quick as possible. Maybe give him around 6 cc's to as much as 8 that is all I got for you. Hope it is not too late....

Placing the calf into a pen on its own will allow to keep an eye on him and giving him milk replacer with some dry calf starter feed and water ahead of him will also give you the oppurtunity to realize how much help the calf will need. Kevin

Maybe another option is to place it into a smaller pen. Most calves that we have that are wild when young will settle down after two weeks or so. If the calf doesn't we show them who is boss and skip a feeding. The next morning they come running. Kevin
