    If you do not get it cut prior to heading out you can wait and cut it when the grain is in the dough stage and the protien comes back up, it is easier to dry and the cattle love it with the grain in it. We have done this and fed to weanling calves, they really do well on it.

    It may or may not be pinkeye. It could just be irritated by weeds or brush. Either way it will start to water and attract flies so you definatly did the right thing getting some LA200 in the calf. If it does not look better in 3 days I would redose. Good luck.

    We have a sawmill about 45 minutes away and they sell shredded wood bedding. It is more course than sawdust and finer than mulch. It works great because it absorbs far more moisture than hay or straw and it is very cheap, $5 for a pick up load. We use it in the pens for sale/show calves and...
