    Got the pathology report back...the liver tested positive for red water disease, ie bacteria Clostridium haemolyticum. Cow was allegedly vaccinated for Lepto a little over a year ago when I bought the cow. I'm in the process not of vaccinating everyone else in the herd.

    Well the vet arrived and confirmed it was a cyst. He lanced and drained it, gave some antibiotics. Steer should be fine within a week or so. Thanks for all the advice!

    I went out yesterday and noticed a fist size tumor on the outside of the jaw of my Longhorn Steer. He is about 5 years old. It does not seem to be affecting him any, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with something like this. His temperament has not changed, and he is eating good...

    Yes, this is the first time we have seen this. It came up within a couple of weeks. None of the other cows have it, and we have had our herd for about one year.

    These nodules have just come up within the last couple of weeks. At first I thought they may be ticks, but now they appear to be solid. They are on this one cow in the herd. They are all Texas Longhorn cattle. Any thoughts on what this could be, and any treatment recommendations? I am not...
