What happens whan a calf doesn't get enough colostrum. will they eat less. cause i had a calf and the mother didnt have any milk so we have to bottle feed it and it drank 4 pints of the bagged colostrum and since them he wont drink any milk replacer. we have to force it down him so what should i do?

okay i gave him 4 pints of that colostrum and am wondering how much more and how often should i give it to him.

We gave him some regular milk and that helped he was able to stand. then tomorrow we will see if mother has any milk and let him nurse if not we r buying colostrum and milk replacer. Thanks everyone

i am jsut wondering cause i have a 1 month old calf and the moter hardly ahs any milk to give him so i might take him out and feed him hary and grain.

i am just wonder how old a calf has to be before it can eat hay and grain and drink from a stock tank.
