I've got a first calf heifer,calved out fine wedsday am. Went to feed this evening and it looks like at least 90% of the after birth is still hanging out. It does'nt smell bad ,I just wonder how long I should wait to give nature a chance?

The calf did scour for a couple days at about a week old, has cleared up completly since though. I've had calves scour before just have'nt seen the hair fall out before, have only owned cattle for acouple of years though, I'm sure there's a lot more to be seen, hopefully more good than bad!!
