I wouldn't run bred heifers on wheat through calving. But you shouldn't have any problems with cows, we do it every year if our wheat is doing good enough. If you are worried about calving problems I'd start looking at replacing your cows.

I'm feeding 6-7lbs of a 26% cube every third day currently. During the really cold spells I'll move it to every other day. I don't think you'll see much benefit at once weekly especially if you are wanting them to gain any condition.

See if Purina will drop ship you a ton of the mineral you want. Vitaferm drop ships to me and I end up $2-3 cheaper per bag going that route than through the local feed store.

I do ours at 2-3 months, sometimes a little later. Vet says anything under 2 months you're not really helping them a whole lot.
