    Another mad cow?

The media, as usual, as to climb on a topic and chew it up to bits before they even know what they are talking about.. operative words "may", "inconclusive".. sometimes I could slap the snot out of them. They apparently do know that this "maybe" and not "conclusive" mad cow did not make the food...

    Answers anybody??

Mycotil works wonders... also a shot of banamine.. that is generally what my vet tells me to do. Mycotil is a one-shot drug that can knock it out of them in hours sometimes. Contact your vet, as you generally cant by it over the counter. The banamine, which is a pain killer, helps them relax...

    Cow down

Call the vet.. you can also give her some Calcium, phosphorous and magnesium.. it comes in a tube that looks like caulk. When a cow goes down, they loose these minerals really fast and it tends to perk them up. Does she have a temp? I read all the posts telling you to shoot her.. even if you...

    Calf Death....Coyotes?

Is it possible the calf was stepped on? I have lost a couple that way.. mom puts them up by the hay ring... usually the other animals pay attention to that.. but not always. As to the butt end.. buzzards would certainly do that.. and I think a coyote(s) would have dragged it off. also think the...

I was at a sale barn in Kentucky a few years ago.. a guy brought in a semi load of cattle.. one of them had been trampled by the others.. she was not dead tho.
