Poison Ivy. How can I cure it?

I have used bleach and/or salt to dry it up. But the best way to keep from getting it is to take the shots to make you where you are immune to it ,if they still give them they did 40 years ago, I use to could get close to it and it got me, how I can pull it up and at the most get a few small...

    Gangrene banding

what 's the difference if you slit them they hurt for a hour if you don't slit them they still hurt for a hour. Either way I don't think it feels to good to them. If you numb them and put them to sleep they still going to hurt when they wake up, only way to stop the pain is leave them bulls.

    Gangrene banding

slit the sack, after many threads about this people still think me and a few others that say ''slit the sack'' are crazy. But here is the perfect example of why I always, except new born and sometimes even them, slit the sack. They drain, dry up faster, and fall faster, and way less stress on...

''Treat Anaplasmosis'' or do you mean they use it as a preventive ?? I used the mineral till you had to have a VFD, there is also a shot you can give them in spring. I think it is two shots the first year then a booster each year after, not for sure maybe some one will say

    Losing Cows

I hate to hear that. any thing that has it and you get them well needs to be sold, and not sold to put back on the farm ''Slaughter Only'' they can be carriers. As for a problem in the winter its not near the problem in the winter. Ticks are the big spreader of it and needles, preg. checking...

    Losing Cows

If your vet wants to give them all a shot of LA200, MAKE SURE HE CHANGES NEEDLE BETWEEN EACH COW !!!!! I ran to that a few years ago and vet DID NOT change needle and it seemed to make it worse. JUST MY 2 CENTS, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT .

I know I am kind of late on this , but been out of town is the whole cottonseed something you feed every day or is there a way to put it out and regulate it with salt. If I was able to check my cows every day I would do things different but it makes it kind of hard having to drive right at 50...

    Range Meal vs cubes

I feed ''Range Meal'' and keep it out pretty much year around, when the grass is good they will not touch it but as the grass starts loosing its goods they start eating it more. My cows are on just a native grass pasture ,that's not been taken real good care of, and get fed poor grade grass hay...

    Hoof - white or black

I don't know about studies that was done vs. ''old wives tale'' but one thing I do know is I got a white mule with white feet and I also have a dun mule with black feet. If you ride them both together in the same place one right behind the other you had better have shoes on that white mule. The...

    Please tell me about Anaplasmosis?

I think you can sale the cattle might want to sell as ''slaughter only'' Property should not be quarantined it is carried through the blood, needles. preg. checking, and ticks, most vets will tell you that it can be transmitted by the horse fly. some do not agree with that. The year I fought it...

When is a Bull Calf too big to band?

No with a drain slit they dry up a lot faster then fall off with out it they walk around with a glob of rotting flesh hanging from them. That being said I think you are better off to band them when they are small. I am not recommending banding big bulls but if I do I cut a slit in the sack.

    Droopy ear on heifer

need a chute to work cattle , I don't think so, its nice and I am sure glad I have one. but if you have a calf that needs doctored a rope and a post will work. a 400 lb. is not that big growing up Grand pa did not care if they were 200 lbs. or 1500 lbs. we roped them and snub them to a snubbing...
