    Wood chipper

Not sure what you have near you. I have a pallet mill up the road that will load into the bed of your truck for $10 scoop. 1 scoop in their loader fills my 8ft bed heaping full.

    Wood chipper

I’d say the cheapest option would be a larger 3 point version for a tractor. Or just buy a used professional grade Vermeer and sell it after you’re done. Might consider just renting a bobcat with a forestry mulcher attachment. A couple weeks with one of those will turn a lot of trees into wood...

    Anybody sell any pork?

Sky what are you feeding that’s reasonable priced? Our local feed mill has a corn sbm mix they sell as hog feed but the price has became too high. I didn’t feed any out this year due to feed costs.

    Tractors...

I fell into the Mahindra tractor thing several years back. First let me say mine held up pretty good but had some wiring gremlins. The real problem came when I went to trade it for another tractor. The local JD NH and Kubota dealers wouldn’t even make me a offer on it. Just said they had no...

    Tractors...

Hard to go wrong with a kubota M7060 if buying new. We use ours for hay work mainly and unloading 1 ton bags of feed off the truck. I have had good luck also with my JD 5105. Not as much hp as the kubota but will do whatever I need done. Plenty of weight and loader power. Recently picked up...

    Sheeps vs Cattle

I really like sheep as an addition. They take care of a lot of weed problems. Profit on them has been very good the last few years. I’ll also second that a Ram or a ewe with a lamb can flat kick your butt.

    Farmers Almanac's winter forecast

I can handle cold and snowy as long as we don’t get another ice storm. Luckily this year I have almost double the amount of hay that I generally do.

    Hay

Luckily this year we are set on hay. I realize the price of hay seems high to purchase but in my opinion it’s a deal. When you look at the cost of equipment, fuel, fertilizer I don’t know how people sells 4x5 rolls for $30-35. A 7ft disc mower is $10K fertilizer is $620 ton and fuel over $3...

    PPP loan and schedule F

I wouldn’t be so worried about missing out. I chose not to get involved. The less dealing I have with the government and my farm the better off I am. When you take money from them you open the door for them to stick their nose in your business. They are tracking that money and Biden has already...

    Fertilizer price increase.

Been pretty rough here but doing better than most. Been without water and electric for 12 days now. Biggest obstacle has been cutting trees off fences and repairing fence.

    Where's Ron.

I would love to see Ron come back to the forum. He brought forward a lot of good information. I text with him every so often. Usually it’s when I have a AI question. Ron is a wealth of information to someone doing their own AI work. He breeds 20 plus cows every year all on natural heats by...

    Buzzards.............

I’d have the AR with me and smoke some buzzards. Heck with what the laws are. If something is injuring my cattle I’m gonna put a stop to it.
