    Solar Fence Charger

The fence grounding did not work for me with hundreds of T posts. I moved the unit near a pond. Drove a ground rod in the mud. Took a tiller and ran a deep trench to the charger to bury the ground cable in. About 100 feet long. There has never been a problem since.

    Bass Reeves

Brute I enjoyed the series. The show near "Glen Rose" hit close to home since I have all the dino tracks on my place.

    Close the door Nesi!

12 degrees here in my part of TX this a.m. I actually zipped up the parka I bought in Wyoming. My wife is wearing my old Alyeska parka that came off the north slope. I may have lost it for good :-)

    What is with people

I used to drag trailers a lot. Light turns red way up the road. Its time to let off the gas. Car flies by and runs up to the light to stop. I'm still coasting down. I get to the light doing about 40 still, its green, and I slide right past the car. Its time to accelerate just for good...

    Taxes

There was that year when the accountant told me I owed $165,000. Capital gains mostly. I wish it was that way every year.

Double Back Fire near Godley, TX

https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/double-back-grassfire-in-grady-reaches-350-acres-threatens-structures/ This one blew up in a hurry. The grass is so dry, no rain in months, south winds. They threw everything at it yesterday. The pontoon type planes sweeping down and refillling on Lake...

    Summer Sausage

The pellet smoker just doesn't do what I like. After all these years its a hard adjustment. But the one the kids bought me is a pellet smoker on one side and a grill on the other. I find myself using the grill side with the damper open between the two. Open the vent on the grill stack...

    Summer Sausage

We only use fruit woods for birds/poultry. We use nut woods or mesquite for beef and such. But this is Texas and we are set in our ways. Just seems strange you would use apple an cherry on beef.

    Factory Farms

A whole lot of market spin. Got a lady going to Kroger and HEB and selecting the best of fruits. Then she hauls it to the local farmer's market and sells it as organic or whatever spin it is that moves it. She lives in a condo. Probably never had a hoe in her hand in her life. She's been...

Last of them will be gone tomorrow

Nesikep I still have one cow and her calf. Just raise a steer every year for the freezer. Its bittersweet now.

    Nuclear Engery

I've worked Nukes for 41 years all total. Been at Comanche Peak again since 1985. Vistra just bought Beaver Valley, Davis Besse, and Perry. So we are now going to be a fleet operation. The problem with this proposed unit you list is that it does not meet the New Build standards. No...

    401K thoughts?

I have never lost on real estate. Rental income is good. I have done well in the markets and not so well at times. Tangible gold is not doing anything for me but I am not losing anything with it either. I like having tubes of Francs just for a SHTF scenario. Interest income is not...

    Exchange student

Maybe Little Rock was more akin to what she was looking for. All of us, her included, went down to San Angelo for a wedding. We were around her that entire weekend and did not have much conversation at all. She just didn't want to communicate - with anyone. We did some tourist stops there...

    Working dog thoughts

They are a lot of work and not all work out. We have two Aussies. One is way young. Our eldest will do things like catch and hold chickens for us with out injury to the bird. She's pretty amazing. I have few cows now so there is not all that much "work" going on. Instincts are there.

My step son has done this 4 times now. He and his wife have not been able to have children on their own. The first three were great. Switzerland and Finland transfers. The fourth one just considered their town podunk. She wasn't happy in any manner with the school our the home. She...
