    help on limos

It is best to test any breed information you get here with what you can find in other places. One person may tell you they have an awful temperament and others may tell you they take them to the grocery store on a leash. Check out the web and the breed association site. Focus on what you need to...

    Black Angus

I think that it is too harsh to say that all black angus have attitudes. However, if yours is displaying some attitude you definately want to be careful. If she does come at you, it is time to put wheels on her. We've had cows that will hang back when we are in the pasture but I don't like ones...

    Gelbieh heifers?

While there are typically bargains out there to be had, it is difficult finding them and realizing that you got the bargain. More often than not, the bargain turns out to be a problem, cull, etc. I try to restrict my bargain shopping to people that I know really well. These folks will tell me if...

    need longhorns

Make sure you look at lots of cattle and determine what you want to do with them before you begin shopping or you may regret some of your purchases. It is more difficult for you to market longhorns in Virginia than it is for me in Texas and the Southwest. Also, it may be just as cost effective...

Polled cows sell for more dollars in the registered market because people who are buying them as seedstock really don't like the horns because they have no use. The only exception is the longhorn market where the more horn they have the more dollars you get for your product.

    cattle report questions

I raise cattle because I absolutely love working with them. Each one of them is unique and has its own personality. My herds are small, around 40 head, and I just love being out with them and talking about them with other cattlemen. My favorite part of being in the cattle business is having...

    calf

There are quite a few characters on this board and unfortunately, it can be difficult for beginners to know good advice from bad advice. Your best bet is to contact a local cattleman. Most are more than happy to help you out. If that doesn't work for you, try a local vet or cattle feed store...

    One of our Longhorns

She's a nice looking longhorn (from what I can see :) ). You may want to crop the photo into a head and horn shot since that is what people love about our longhorns. Like I should talk, though. I haven't even bothered with an avatar yet!
