Our first On the Mark calf.

This is our first calf by On the Mark. Luckily it was a heifer and out of a first calf heifer that was sired by our herd bull. we have one more due bred to On the Mark. I`m pretty happy with the bone this little heifer has especially being out of a first calf heifer.

    Our first Classified calf.

This little heifer is out of TKCC Classified and a Grandmaster cow. With this much chrome I was really glad it was a heifer. This was the only one I bred to Classified last fall but I`ll use him again this year.

    Our first Quantum Leap calf

Thanks I really like the cow he`s out of. I was Hoping for some heifers out of her but this is her third bull in a row. I`ll probably breed her back the same way for next year.

    Our first Quantum Leap calf

I used HPF Quantum Leap on a couple last fall and this is the first. He`s out of a Cowboy Cut X Cream Soda cow. I`m Pretty happy with this guy depending on how he turns out he may just stay a bull.

    A Different Breed

I tried that but the people in my area are mostly idiots that have never had anything better than a sale barn quality cow and they aren`t going to change. I was able to consign a few to a sale on Breeders World but it was always questionable whether you would actually get paid and always took a...

Simsolution heifer to pick on. Caution she has chrome !

He`s got really good bone to him and was up and eating just a few minutes after he was born. I really like the Boulder calves because the ones I`ve had haven`t been throw aways like some of the calves out of calving ease bulls are.

    GLS Declaration calves

I guess my cows thought Sept 9 was Declaration day. We had all 3 calves within a few hours the 2 red calves were 7 and 9 days early the black bull was right on the due date. The first picture is a bull calf out of a Shorthorn X Simmental cow. The second picture is a bull calf out of a Maine...

    Really liking this heifer

She turned out nice. It`s surprising sometimes what a little time and some groceries will do if they have good genetics in them.

Simsolution heifer to pick on. Caution she has chrome !

Thought I would bring this back up with a picture of her as a bred since she was standing there nicely this morning. She`s bred to CCR Boulder.

    A Different Breed

Personally I would be raising all Shorthorns if it was financially feasible. I had several Shorthorn cows until it got to a point when I took them to a local sale barn they would sell them as singles just because of color and they were bringing less than Holstein feeders at times. All of the...

Our first Simangus calf by CCR Boulder

Our first Simangus calf by CCR Boulder

This heifer has done well. She`s in a pen with a Pays to Believe heifer and a Upgrade heifer both out of mature cows and born within 2 weeks and she`s the middle weight heifer in the bunch. Her disposition is great which I value highly. I will get a picture and try to post it soon. I plan on...

    Changes coming to CAIP

We have a similar program here in Tennessee they call it TAEP. They will pay you back $400 more on the bulls that are genetic tested so that's a pretty good return on the testing fee. I`m sure a lot of people have better bulls because of the program but there`s still many that are too lazy or...

I used an Executive Order son GLS Declaration on 3 cows will have to wait till fall and see how they look. The Declaration bull is available from Select Sires which helps not having to pay shipping.

    What Sells Bulls in Kentucky

The stockyard I sell at is right on the border of Kentucky and I`m always amazed that some of the cattle are such poor quality but the guys always have a nearly new $70,000 Power Stroke to haul them in there with. I saw some Charolais being unloaded today that if you painted them white with...

Simsolution heifer to pick on. Caution she has chrome !

Actually she is out of HPF Optimizer I believe the Shocker bull was posted just to show there a many bulls out there with chrome. I believe she will make a really good cow. Her mother has had 10 calves now and has stuck every time first breeding with A.I. her calf she has on her now is a blue...
