The family is really nice and enjoyed talking with a few of them. At start of sale, they said where they fed them and watered, there was a quarter mile distance. I thought they were of good quality as well. I paid $3750 for this 18 mos old.
Nothing online but they gave more info on all the animals with a supplemental sheet at the sale, 1100#, 38 scrotal. What i can remember offhand. Wasnt my first choice, but not the worst either.
I always like seeing stories of people's cattle and how the story can progress. So fast forwarding this thread 2 years and 2 months later...
Queen Ranch was finally found and mother only produced milk out of one quarter
She had her first calf on her own on valentine's night and she has a better...
I remember researching way back when that no castrating in the EU due to animal welfare purposes?
Great looking calves by the way. Its always fun to see your calves as color is not a primary factor in marketing there.
Would make for a couple of fun calves. I do not think there is anything wrong keeping a couple around as a lawn ornament or two. As you, big fan that they need to at least pay their way though.
The spotted gyr, though, is one of the least tame of the group.
I had not heard of a blood tiger. Didnt realize there was a name for that cross. I think i can borrow a stout hereford bull (would still need to look at him in person) and might do that. The biggest brahma of the group was jumping on the other heifers today but none jumping her. Overall, pretty...
Several beefmaster x's for sure. I was looking for a beefmaster bull and stumbled upon this outfit.
3 red brahmans
4 gert x
3 beefmaster but the gray say it was simbrah
1 bred brangus
I was definitely being the facetious with "just a touch of ear."😂 they are nowhere near as crazy as I thought...
Years back, grandpa had a pasture of charolais x cows with a brangus bull over them, had a few calves that came out that brindle color. Made excellent cows.
A few new girls that were shipped in from Texas Saturday afternoon. It was a pleasant 60 degrees out. Got about an inch of rain last night and tonight, a strong north wind, windchill in the 20s. Bit of a motley crew of 11. Brahmas got mainly for the novelty of having a few.
That it is. Or at least it was a couple years ago, last time i was in that part of elk city.
I lived and worked there a few years myself and i never remembered it being THAT cold and windy.😂😂 but i worked in a lab so maybe that had something to do with it🤷♂️🤷♂️
