Thanks for the info you provided; I'm near the border crossing of El Ceibo, which is right next to the Rio San Pedro. I placed a BLUE Dot where it's located on the map you provided; it's in the northwestern part of the country. For it to be worthwhile, I would have to buy several Bulls to...

I’m actually heading down there for summer late July/august. One of my old herd bulls I purchased I know for a fact his mother was flown down there from Texas. I never spoke to the owner how the heck he got her down there but I do know it can be done but it’s gotta be expensive. My buddy who...

Butchers always want bulls and Very rarely do they slaughter steers. I was told it was Mexico that drives the market and the will not buy steers either. They want their bulls fully intact. 🤷‍♂️

Not as much as I’d like I flew down there in July/August for 40 days October for 5 days and my dad was down there in December for the whole month. I have my own small business here in nyc as a public adjuster I adjust property claims for policy holders. But I have to admit I absolutely hate...

I think I had a heavy load of worms because the dewormer wasn't administered properly or at all. The ivomec I had someone I befriended and he went there himself and worked the cattle with my handlers, I am now a customer of his and he delivers my minerals to my place he's a godsend, he's a hard...

Any particular brand you use?? Do you have to castrate them?? Our market is different because if they are being hauled to Mexico they want bulls not steers. 🤷‍♂️

We never found out the cause of death on these cows, however I took a shot in the dark and dewormed them with ivomec plus and I also used a product called valvazen from zoetis. Started using minerals daily as well and came up with my own schedule on vaccines for clostridium, derriengue and...

Thank you appreciate your input. My farms in Guatemala. There is no protocol or restrictions on what feed or what growth hormones are used in cattle. All buyers for the most part finish cattle on chicken litter. I have been working in getting better genetics with my cows, my birthweights have...

Hi everyone, How’s everyone dealing with the cold? We had our first “snowstorm” of the year here in nyc about an inch if that! 😂 I was wondering if anyone uses implants on new born calves(one month old) ? What experiences have you had? what brands have better response? I’m mostly wondering if...

Back in the day the Mexican peso was also available in coins I don't know if it has changed. 😂 so…… they would prefer paper currency so it can be put in their wallets quietly 😂 coins tend to make too much noise when you walk plus their pants pockets would be heavier.🤣.

Importing is not hard, documents, vaccines quarantine not a big deal I think. cost I have no idea definitely not cheap. I’m assuming they would have to flown in a cargo plane. Hauling/driving them through Mexico I think would be a pain/headache too much corruption on the road. The last time I...

    Show me your herd bull

So this is what I learned from an acquaintance: a breeder in Guatemala by the last name Ponciano breeds them down there, but my acquaintance said they are big and complex to maintain on grass only. But I didn't ask if this was the USA-bred Chiania cattle or those bred in Guatemala.

The problem I am running into is not enough purebred breeders or they have not introduced great or newer bloodlines or the donor cow isn’t great the condition of the bulls are not great. Obviously you’d want a bull to work out in the pasture and not be fed grains everyday. Down there it can...

The four bulls I have are all registered. The other three are jdh clanton son, jdh mosley manso and Brc Noble. From the maternal side their mothers are Karu 800 daughters except the Woodson son. To answer your question I’d have to ask around to see if anyone is working with that breed cross down...
