They're dandies, we have some local breeders that raises Fleckviehs and beef type Normande cattle. Their herd isn't that big but they surely take pride in their animals.
When we had hogs, we would feed them dead chickens (we live on a commercial broiler chicken farm) and filleted fishes and there isn't any single bone left after the hogs cleaned up.
I never understand the folks using dairy bulls on beef cows. Knew few people used dairy shorthorn, blue roan and montbéliarde bulls as a herd bull and put them on their beef cows....but these bulls are probably cheaper
