I always called it dump cake. Best in a Dutch oven over a fire. Have done both cherry and apple pie filling like the cherry the best. It is awesome though!

I'm not a Louisiana boy so guess I claim to be no expert on gumbo why does shrimp ruin it mud? Alan id probably use a pound. I like bigger shrimp (16-20 in a pound). Be sure to peel em I can't stand having to pick off shells in a restaurant.

Good meat other than bbq style food needs no sauce. To me it takes away from the quality of a good steak or piece of prime rib. I don't even put ketchup on hamburgers I just like to taste the juicy, medium rare ground beef (not raw and bloody like the butchers son likes :lol2: )

Oh man as a kid in Scouts I used to love to char my hotdogs over a campfire - the crunch and black coating so good on it then juicy fatty hotdog meat inside of it. Same for marshmallows. And same for spam, even dropped it in fire or on ground couple of times before and still ate it. Good times!

Grits. Without cheese, lots of melted butter, egg yolk from eating em with eggs, or shrimp and tomato gravy (aka shrimp and grits) they taste like crap. On the same note - oatmeal. Without plenty of brown sugar, maple syrup (the real stuff from Vermont can't stand the fake stuff), apples etc...

Beef roast with quartered potatoes baby carrots some cabbage and cup of water on low for 6-8 hours. Pork roast, can of coke, bottle of bbq sauce I don't get very creative in my slow cooker. Also have done spaghetti sauce all day on it and tastes great.

Hate peppers, squash (unless it's cooked and mashed up with ritz crackers, butter, egg, and cheese aka squash casserole), zucchini, lot of stuff. Can't say I've ever been a veggie fan that's probably what I'm supposed to eat though. More of a meat n taters kind of guy.

Wish I liked veggies better ur eating better than me. Smoked sausage and shrimp and potatoes sound good then ears of corn that's lowcountry boil. Old bay seasoning.
