We bale corn chaff and soybean chaff. We feed it to our mature beef cows over the winter. Never tried feeding only chaff though. We supplement with haylage.

    Soybean Hay?

We have never used soybean hay. However we bale soybean chaff into round bales. Gives they cows something to chew on through the winter. They a get regular feed of course. They don't seem to mind the bales though.

    Whole Corn

A steer stuffer as we call it is a feeder with a big bing on top. The troughs have doors on it so only a little corn can get out at a time. Keeps the feed dry and clean. Lets animals have free choice without gorging themselves.

    Whole Corn

We bought the steer stuffer from a neighbor who found he couldn't make a good profit feeding out 5 holstein steers a year. If I walked outside right now I could see the name and tell you it. It is orange. Paid 200 for it. Rented is pasture and barn too. What do you mean by feed book.

    creep feeder

If you want to mix feed cheap find a dairy farmer who may let you use their mixer. Buy the feed you want in it and mix it in his mixer. Get some old feed bags and bag it yourself.
