    Weed Wiper

Best of luck. We just learned to accept Johnson grass around here. It has good nutritional value if cut at the right time. The best thing that seems to work is to keep a good plan for reseeding your good grasses.

    Weed Wiper

What weed are you going after? We use one for Johnson Grass. 10’ rear mount on 4-wheeler. Tried it on front but you could see the tire track overspray.

    Foam filled post holes

There are many, many different formulations for expandable foam. Some set very light, airy, and soft and some set much firmer. It is hard to imagine foam ever being as dense as concrete but I could see it working. But cost of material and equipment, and the learning curve may be a big factor.

    Round balers-twine or netting?

What type of string are you using? Sisal will rot pretty fast. Plastic/poly string lasts a very long time outside. If the string is truly falling off at the end of the bales, change your tying pattern to move the last wrap back toward the center of the bale and make sure the string overlaps to...

    Hay opinion

    That is pretty low CP.

    Recommend a V rake

Do you know what these valves are called? It seems they can divide pressure and flow evenly from one source to two cylinders regardless in changes to the loads on either/both cylinders. If I can figure out what to ask for I am sure a hydraulic supply house will be much cheaper.

    Recommend a V rake

There are things a Rollabar rake will do that a V-rake will not, mainly turning hay over or moving hay/merging windrows. But they definitely speed up the process even if you are dinking and dunking in smaller fields. This is a good point to reiterate getting a new enough rake that the hydraulics...

    Recommend a V rake

I will not tout a certain brand. There are only a handful of manufacturers and a Lot of brand names. I would say whether you are buying new or not try to find something that you have local parts/service for. When you are in need this is priceless. Here is my experience with common grass hay (in...

    Fence Lines

One of the workers at our local CO-OP recommended adding ammonium sulfate to generic glyphosate to combat pre-emergence in our gravel lots. It does seem to last a 6-8 weeks longer. Like others have said, some weird, undesirable stuff comes back after eradicating the good grasses.

    2019 Lime Prices

That is high. I live just west of Nashville and can buy lime for $11/ton and get it spread for $12/acre. $23/acre spread with a 10 ton minimum. We can get a full dual tandem dump truck load, about 22 tons delivered for $300 and rent a spreader from CO-OP that holds 7 tons per load for $125/day...

    Swath Wheel on Mower

Yep, I bought a green Kuhn (JD) last year and it does not have a wheel. I like how it spreads the grass. I tedder so it doesn't matter greatly but yes, I think it helps dry time a little.

Is there an additive/fertilizer that will not flash off ths time of year?

No, I will not lime this year and hopefully next year either. That has been a normal year for some time though. pH jumped a full two points since last fall.

Is there an additive/fertilizer that will not flash off ths time of year?

Our supplier (local CO-OP) says it's coated urea needs 3 days where the temp never exceeds 75, rain, or incorporation. I misspoke on the hours; I meant 72. We will not have 3 days that sustain below 72 until September most likely. Do you use the Dri Maxx? Do you have your own mixing capabilities?

    Hay barn

Whatever you calculate as needed space, add 1/3 to 1/2 additional size to it. I guarantee you will need the space much quicker that you think you will and it is a lot cheaper to build once instead of twice.

Is there an additive/fertilizer that will not flash off ths time of year?

We have a coated urea source but says it will flash if not rained on in a 24 hour period. That works for you in TX?

Is there an additive/fertilizer that will not flash off ths time of year?

Yes, that is our normal procedure. We have already done our spring application of 55-30-45. The grass is not coming back as well as usual and wondered what others have done. We will lime and fertilize in the fall.

    Buying Johnson grass seed

I was planning to cut tomorrow but we are having an unannounced downpour right now. Two hours ago no rain in the forecast. Now it says it will rain until 8:00 pm. Weathermen have a strange job when you are paid to be wrong.

Is there an additive/fertilizer that will not flash off ths time of year?

Our first cut was just a little off pace for yield from the last two years and the second cut is looking downright poor. The grass coming back looks good but it is seems to be growing back slow. It is grass hay, fescue, orchard grass, timothy, and clover. The fescue is not coming back at all. I...

    Buying Johnson grass seed

It does make good cattle feed but it grows so much faster than our other grasses, particularly orchard grass, that it makes the 2nd cutting cycle difficult. Wait for the slower grasses to stand tall and the Johnson grass it way too mature. Cut when the Johnson grass is just right and the yield...
