    What do you feed in the winter?

    We feed about 200 tons of hay per year. It is just grass hay with weeds and maybe some clover mixed in. Cows stay mud fat in the winter. At 180$ per ton it would cost at least 36k in hay. I actually raise and sell alfalfa, we don't keep any. No reason to, especially when folks are willing...

    I agree with Chris b , your description of agreement I don't fully understand. First thing is to make sure he doesn't think hes getting 40% for the work ( this is what is sounds like in your post). Also make sure everything is agreed upon before you start. IMO I would just do all of the work...

    Bout how many acres yall got?

    35 cows on about 70 acres of pasture on one farm and 20 cows on about 40 acres of pasture on another. More ground on both places for hay, woods, houses and barns.
