    How and when do you get children envolved in Cattle Shows

    Our 4H only allows 9 years old and older start showing, I have a six year old that I bought her 2 bottle babies, she loves feeding them and she helps walk them. however i do not let her be out in the open when we ae breaking her big sisters steers because thats just to dangerous

    When you get it halteed up and tied up. hold a piece of bread in front of her. or a donut she what happens. Also if that doesnt help when we had a really wild angus my father in law gave him whiskey, ( you can also you cattle calm) if that doesnt help dont risk showing it. not worth the injury...

    wash down early morning and later in the afternoon, keep your steer cool, on real hot days try and keep him out of the sun, I would not suggest show products until day of show because of the skin drying out.

    we had our pinched at 10 weeks, but we have had some later then that, in fact we just bought one that still has one testicle up in him hopefully it will drop but he looks fine and he is 5 months old

    THey asked for our opinion, why sit there and lie and say wow that should win grand champion and then have their hearts sink in sorrow because all of us posted they should win, I tell my daughter every year where that steer might place and i have been right every year except one, i am not trying...

    my daughter shows dairy beef normally brown swiss, and holsteins and she shows beef , angus and hereford the beef we get in october they are momma fed calves and our dairy beef are all bottle fed except for one last year, and I tell you what I never had a problem getting them to "show"...
