If you are showing FFA or 4-H there are lease agreements that you can have signed by the owner. You can put what you have agreed upon in those agreements. As far as I know, you can then show under either one of those organizations.

We just cut them off so they bleed and leave it. They don't come back after that.

Good luck at the state fair! Hopefully we will be there. Our county fair is next week. We are going to the state fair in FFA and maybe open. My son has been working really hard with his cattle, and IMO I think they look great!

6M's right, you do need to have owned, bred and reg her before breeding. We received our book a couple of weeks ago also. Also calf must be reg and tattooed by show date and have the original certificate.

I think your age is ok. The rules state heifers should be born sept 1, 2005 to dec 31, 2006. You can show cow calf pair. those dates are two year old cow born after july 1, 2004. and calf must be cow's most recent natural calf and must be born after sept 1, 2006. that is what i found in...
