    Wheel Rakes for Dummies...

I saw where you called back but was pouting over a cloud coming up, with 60 mph wind, and blew all the hay I just cut in the river. It at least could have rained first and stuck it to the ground, but not with my luck.

alligater rivet tool for splicing round bale belt

The rivet tool has holes spaced for the nails in the rivets to go through and has pins to line up the alligator clip with the holes and hold it in place. It also has pins or stops to set the depth of the belt inside the clip. I believe you can make one, but I you would be much better off just to...

    Pictures of My Shop

These were taken this past Monday. I cant figure out how to reset the date on my camera so its a little off. No its not a floating cab It has its advantages. Good cross ventilation, light, don't have to sweep it out, not so hard on the knees, and lots of room. Its disadvantages are the...

    Oil for Older Tractors?

I run 10-40 Rotella in everything from a '58 model to a '05 and run every thing wide open and have never had any problems. It's my understanding that the 30 weight deal was mainly for small engines that don't have an oil pump, but instead have a slinger that throws the oil up to the piston. The...

    chevy trucks

    Bush Hog

Not good. If you've ever seen a flail mower, the blades are attached to a drum with a chain link that has a strap (made like a U) ran through the link and attached to the drum with a bolt through the ends of the strap. On some of the mowers the bolt only goes through one end of the strap, which...

    Ford F150 Crew Cab Pickups

Got a brother that bought a new Chevy two years ago. I never figured he would seeing that he, like me, is a diehard Ford man. He said he did it for the gas mileage. They wound up replacing the trasmision in it twice within one year. He said he figured out why Chevy's gas mileage was so much...

    Help...International manure spreader

I've got one I gave $75 for at an auction. Works real good, dang good as a matter of fact, for 75 bucks. I had to replace a bearing and took the old races with me to the parts store and they matched them. I wound up having to put new tires on it last year and stopped by the local coop and just...

Best way to pull up cedar???

The best way to pull up any kind of tree is to tie on to it as high up on the tree as you can get. The force that you apply at the stump or ground is multiplied by the distance in feet that you are up on the tree, if that makes sense. Also if you wrap the chain around it twice or three times, it...

    Driving posts in rocky ground

Used to see fences that were a hundred years old, up in the Ozarks that were nothing but stacked rocks. Then somebody in the Delta up and decided it was the upscale thing to do to use them for veneer on houses and to build estate fences. Them poor old hillbillies sold all there fences and then...

I'm buying a new hay farm, good idea?

Most everybody I know that custom bale, use a 4 X 5 baler because that is the best size to use to load a truck with the most it can legally haul without getting a over-sized load permit. It also is the most sought after size by the customers, not every one has a 90 hp tractor to move hay with.
