    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

I appreciate your offer, this is what makes this page so awesome. A lot of experience from different areas of the country in all aspects of the industry. But I went ahead and bought the Filson brand head holder. I’ve learned you often get what you pay for but 1300 and fab’ing my own mounts VS...

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

So I bought the Filson one which is same brand as my chute. Welded 2 tabs on and installed couple weeks ago. Used it first time today to implant older steers. Worked very well. No pics of calves in it but here’s after install

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

That’s interesting. I’ve never seen that. Would be easy to add that to any chute. Only thing I see is that his cow was really calm and easy to handle. Mine are not wild but 50-60% you aren’t going to be handled like that without trying to break your jaw. Getting the chain over her nose and then...

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

I hear that. Stock trailer I wanted was $10g before covid. Now it’s 15-17. Is the Q catch restraint adaptable to another chute?

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

Well I only have 35 momma cows anyway. So not like I run that many. Plan has always been to cover my chute area before buying a nicer one. But we will see. I have same thing on a new cattle trailer, want a new hay barn with storage shed off it before I buy new one. So lots of wants, small checkbook.

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

I really prefer my auto(one that swings in and out, not scissor style). Personal preference but I do not like scissor styles. A lot of newer chutes are going to the controls that can be moved to the rear which looks really nice. I doctor stuff a lot by myself. It’s hard to punch them in...

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

Q Catch is what I’m considering once I can afford one, or at least want to spend it on that. How do you like it?

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

Never heard of any kind of injury issues with them. By most standards here my cows are tame. I use a halter most times but often need to hold the head for ear tags, doctoring eyes etc. major things like dehorning would still need halter, I realize neck bars don’t hold them perfectly still. few...

    Cattle chute neck bar ideas?

Anyone built their own neck bars or head restraints? I’ve got an old Filson chute(similar to W-W), hopefully I can upgrade it if calf prices hold decent. But hoping to get few more years out of it. Factory these came with a nose bar that is a great way to get your teeth knocked out. Filson shows...

    Bought a Butler haybed

I thought that’s what the v shaped flat strap was for on the inside of the arms. It is a solid piece that’s been bent into Vs about foot long both sides

Loading Hay in Field w/ Spike or Arm Bed

What will trailer be hooked to? If you plan to pull trailer to field and unhook to load, you won’t be able to shove bales on. You will just push trailer and bend the jack. Moving hay off field is main reason for a haybed in my deal. Got several small 5-10acres fields that are baled. It’s not...

Wiring caker on to butler bed

The butler I bought had feeder in it. I removed feeder but the company that installed for previous owner just ran wires off the post in the tool box for the pump to the feeder and then controls to cab

    Bought a Butler haybed

I would say this is a pretty standard setup. I called a local dealer, ended up highly impressed by them because they offered me pics and help over the phone. Said they are backed up since they are a hay equipment dealer with equipment repairs. But one mechanic offered to stop by on his way home...

    Bought a Butler haybed

All my cows are here by my house. The feeder on the truck wouldn’t be used much unless a nice piece of ground were to come up available that wasn’t joined to me. Then I could see it’s use. I have one that mounts to my fourwheeler, holds 200lbs. I use it spring for breeding cows back and fall...

    Bought a Butler haybed

Imagine if you will my mounting setup. 3 pieces of 2x2 3/16 tubing, these run perpendicular to the frame. 5/8 grade8 bolt inside tubing through into the frame. Planning to weld the nut/washer to the tubing since it is inside the tubing and hard to get to much less once bed is on top of it. Any...

    Bought a Butler haybed

Auto. yeah the way they had it mounted I couldn’t get to the bolt heads. But I got it torched off. Started pulling my box bed last night, but previous owner had a transfer pump mounted up in the fender. Wires and hoses to disconnect, I stopped because it was late, I was tired. Finish pulling it...
