Yes. Still seems normal. The knot is still there but the vet told me it could be there for up to six weeks. I got her up Monday afternoon and gave her a dosage of LA 200. Saw her this morning.

He didnt really say. Just that he had seen it before. With the dark blood in there it just about has to be a hematoma. My guess is she knocked it against something and ruptured a blood vessel.

Thats kind of what im thinking. If it stops raining tomorrow im going to get her up in the chute. What are some things I should check? What would the absess feel like? If it is an absess should I lance it myself or take her to the vet?

All of my calves are right at 2 months old now. Some cows look great and some have pulled down like yours. They are all starting to put weight back on now that the grass is starting to grow. They are just about done eating hay. Yours seems pretty normal to me.

I noticed today that one of my cows has a round knot in the loose skin in front of her brisket. It looks like a mini basketball. I dont see any open wounds there. She is acting normal, grazing with the rest of the herd. Anything I need to check or look at, or just wait and see?

Normally I wouldnt wait but she is going to calve within the next 2-3 weeks. I hate to put her through that stress untill after.

Yea im going to keep an eye on her. I looked closer yesterday and I think both front feet may be doing the same thing. Im going to let my dad take a look in January when they come up to visit. I may try a hoof trim ONE time. She will be gone if it goes right back.

She is out of a group of 10 I bought in October. Ill keep an eye on her for the next few months.
