    This is all great advice! I think I'm going to use a Red Brahman this year to try raise some nice females. Then I'll follow that up with either a good Hereford or Angus bull. lol. So if you are a Red Brahman breeder in or near OK, I'll be looking for a bull this Spring.

    I met a guy that was raising them. They didn't eat much, I guess. He was trying to find a niche market for them (after they were done roping 'em). He claimed they tasted better and steaks naturally came in a portion size that is better for folks watching their weight. Personally I don't know...

    Thanks for the information. I've also started watching the horns pretty close and trying to get them dehorned. I was getting knocked pretty good at sale time with nub horns. I've been thinking about trying a good red brangus bull next.

    What is your opinion for the best Brahman cross cattle for commercial production? I've always heard/read that Brahman cross don't grade well, but I sure like the size and disease resistance.
