Charged by cow wins $2.45 million..........

But, she will only get about 60% (70% if lucky) of the 2.45 million. Depending on what hobbies I would have to give up would determine if I would take that pain AND money.

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

Sorry, I was not trying to imply that it was or was not leaning one way or another. I was just curious on how those numbers would look if it went back to 2010. What I did find interesting in the article was this: Since NerdWallet’s number focuses on credit card debt only, the $905 billion is...

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

I would like to see those percentages or comparisons if we only go back to 2010. My graph is only going back to 2008. U.S. Average Hourly Earnings All Employees was the highest in early 2009 and then plummeted. Going to assume that was the banking crisis. It is easy to pick and choose time...

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

The US Average Hourly Earnings has actually been increasing since about May/June of 2010. But, goods have also increased. If I had the time I would look to see if one has increased more than the other. The govt should have never bailed the banks/financial institutions. I hate debt and wish...

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

All I am saying is that it is your claim is far fetched. Wells Fargo has 262,700 employees Citi has 209,000 Frost Bank 4,217 Lets be conservative and say the average employee makes 30K a year. That would mean Wells Fargo would need to make $7.881 Billion a year in NSF fees. Frost would need to...

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

Brute, do you mind explaining why the treasury prints money if an individual takes on debt? Maybe, I am just not following what you mean. I do agree that when the treasury prints money it could devalue your dollar.

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

Not claiming I am smarter than anyone here but you were the one who responded to my statement about banks making money off of credit cards. Credit card servicing company usually gets those fees that are collected. Just trying to provide more insight.

Banks sell credit cards to their commercial clients and then get money back via rebates or profit sharing however you want to say it.

Americans now $1 Trillion in credit card debt.........

I use a credit card for 99% of my spending. Why, b/c I get the points and I don't buy anything I can't afford. Credit cards are safer b/c if my CC number is stolen I am only out a certain amount if any....maybe $50. If my debit card number is stolen I am out the money until I prove to the bank...

    Oilfield

I have nothing to add except that I find all this very interesting as my dad was a mechanical engineer dealing with wire rope. So, I have heard some lots of stories about oil rigs.

Parents driving their kids to school

I am still trying to figure out why it is such a big deal for kids to get dropped off and/or picked up from school. The school bus has to run the route whether my kid rides or not. There are and have been bad parents in every generation and also great ones. Just b/c parents are great doesn't...
