Outboard downshaft on my 8' Bush Hog snapped a couple weeks ago.Did not hit anything that hard but it had an old break from some time ago.My welder/heavy mechanic tells me to back off the clutch when storing it so it doesn't freeze up.I told him it had only been tightened up since 1989 :lol:

Ford used the 233cu in engine in the early 5000's from 65-67 rated around 55 hp. The 4000 started out with a 45 hp 192 cu in which later was upgraded to 201 and My 7600 cab tractor has its hi-lo lever on the right (79 model).It connects by rod to the tranmission.

Its probably time to shorten the chain if you have tightened everything else.This is not a complicated procedure but you would do well to get an owners manuel and follow the directions. Whatever you do, do not cut the chain without first secureing the ends to each other by placing a sepatate...

I recently got another truck which will be pulling my 18' alum.stock trailer some when I need 4 wheel drive.The truck has LT235/85-16 10 ply tires on it.Would changing to LT 265/75-16 help with ride/sway on trailer? The outside diameter is the same so I won't be messing with my gear ratio or...
