    Remember the Little Bull

They were swelling up on the left and right of their tail, maybe it's the vulva area. It almost looked like they had emplants. (not to be crude) and they were crowding the fence. I finally chased them away from the fence with the bull. What should I do now??

    Remember the Little Bull

Hey it's me again. The LITTLE BULL is long gone. I haven't had the heifers vet checked yet. But today the neighbors bull came around and of course my girls were glad to see him. I noticed on each side or their tailhead was swelling up big time. Does that mean they are NOT BRED???? :cry2: :cry2...

    Young Bull

Sure thing I'll let ya'll know how it turns out. I think for the time being we take a wait and see approach. After all if these heifers are bred with the tiny bull at least the calves will be small and easier to deliver! I think the next go around we'll either do AI or buy a bull calf and raise...

    Looking for Herefords in Texas

Looking for Hereford bull calf or someone to AI in Texas. We have more grass than cash at the moment. Maybe it would be less expensive than buying a bull when we need one next... :D Blessings Janet Z http://www.sondayhousefellowship.org

My heifers are thicker and bulkier than our 1000lb horse. If I could figure out how to post pics I would. Two of our heifers are really nice looking. Their sire is a 2000lb reg horned Hereford bull. Blessings Janet Z http://www.sondayhousefelowship.org

    Young Bull

Thanks. I appreicate the input. Maybe we should just sell and start over. I do think we have guessed wrong on our heifers weight they are probably closer to 900lbs. I could try to send some pics maybe someone could have a better guess than me. :cowboy: Janet Zintgraff...

The neighbor's bull is an Angus. But isn't it impossible to get to our heifers from over a fence?

    Young Bull

First of all our girls are just two years old. And yes i'm guessing at their weight! I was told to find a finer-boned bull for their first calves. I had the vet check the bull before he was brought out and he said said the bull was very underweight but very fertile. I would include pics if I...

    Young Bull

The bull is supposed to be 2 years and the heifers are also 2. But we have 30 ac of thick costal grass. And the bull I think was underfed. He looks like a 1 year old. The heifers are 750 - 800 lbs and the bull approx. 650

The heifers out weigh the bull by 150 pounds or so...will that make a difference?
