    First calf heifer

I didn't breed her to anything! lol. I had her with an angus bull this past May 5 - July 4 ... not knowing that the neighbors charolais had got her this past winter. Worked out really well honestly. She is now right around 24 months old, +/- . I plan to hold her back now and get her in line with...

    First calf heifer

I don’t want to hijack your thread, but I just had a heifer have her first calf on Monday the 10th. I figured I would post here instead of making a new thread. I too purchased this cow as a weanling and did as you did. Pretty awesome to see her being a great momma tending to her baby, a little...

    Tanning for beginners.

After fleshing it, you'll need to pickle the hide to get it ready to take on the tanning solution (what i do with raccoons) equal parts white vinegar and water and around 2 cups of salt to the gallon. A few days in there stirring a couple times a day and make sure the hide stays fully submerged...

    First timer looking for advice

Where are you located? I don't know anything about show steers but I know a woman local who shows and does well. If you're local to WV, feel free to send me a message and I can provide her contact info.

    New life

Unfortunately I’m out on work again but I received a phone call and accompanying text from my dad on June 10. My last calf of the “spring” hit the ground. She was late bred August 28 which put her due June 6. Dad said she was a lively little thing, running wild when he saw her. Makes me think...

Bartering hay mowing for baling. What’s fair?

Nesi I lucked out last year and had someone ask me to come to solely help cut. I put about 10 hours of cutting in for 24 round bales. Hoping they call back for more help this year!

    Torn teat.. all good.

I never even thought of that. There is one pond in the back that I fenced off so they can drink and get to the edge but not in the water. The cut was an inverted V, extreme resemblance to that of what a snapping turtle would do.
