I have had plenty of it as a kid so know what its like. I keep the kids away from them as much as possible, which with it getting cold isnt hard to do. The neck spots seem to be improving but now the steer has it up around his eyes as well. Grrrr I cant imagine winter will kill it either.

They can be just like anything else agressive. I have seen cows get agressive when trying to pull the calves. I have also seen some nasty steers, worse then the bulls.

What do you mean I need to feed them? I think they look pretty good and have gotten plenty of complements on them, especially since its my first attempt at raising calves. It does take a long time to get good sized horns. But it also depends on the type of horns. Not all have the nice horns...

Not in that area. They will be in a different area next year. Where they are at now is ment to be a dry lot for my horses. Just need to get a goat in there.

They get as much hay and pasture as they want. As you can see by the pics that their pasture is pretty much weeds at this point. I did mow it off last night and there is some grass left in it but not much.

Well they get horns that can get as big as 9ft tip to tip and when butchered if you keep the skull and sell it you can easily get the 500-1000 for the skull alone. They are a African cattle, they are much more disease resistance then you average cattle. They seldom get sick or catch things...

So here are some pics I took of the older two tonight. The Steer is about 3.5 months and the heifer is about 3 months.

the two older ones have access to grass(which this time of year is mostly weeds now) and hay. The younger one gets hay, but no grass. She is blind and so far every pen I have made for her she gets out of and takes off so she is in a stall.

The steer will obviously become food. The one heifer calf I plan to get as beefed up as I can and butcher next fall. The other heifer is to be a breeder cow. I would guess the bigger ones weigh maybe 200 pounds or so.
