This one gonna be an interesting cross. Her mom was sired by a bull, which had two myostatin Q204X coppies. Her sire has two coppies of F94L. She definitelly has one copy from her sire, but she also could have a different type of myostatin mutation from her mom.

It will be interesting to see her develop. Almost wish it was a bull. This calf shows that double muscle calves develop their muscle after birth. I always used my double muscle semen on experienced cows and never needed to pull any. I did use it on a heifer once and the calf was huge, but with or without the genes it would have been too large.

Last year she had a bull calf, by culard charolais bull, but not sure which myostatin mutation he has. Glad that this one is a heifer. Gonna be very interesting to see how genes work with cows. Most Limousines have F94L, so it's gonna be a good example of how it works in Charolais breed.

Newborn today at 295 days. Very quick delivery. Not very big calf as well.

But probably too quick. Everything looked fine, but later found her prolapsed. First prolapse this year.

4 hours later looks fine thankfully. Hopefully no surprises in the morning. By the looks one heifer could be calving tomorrow.

Very nice cattle, I always enjoy seeing pictures of your cattle. I really like that Simmental cross cow and Charolais calf.
The horned red white faced cow reminds me a lot of one of our cows, but our cow is mainly Hereford with a little Brahman and Longhorn mixed in. Your cow is more muscular being part Limousin.
