Either way is good. Hereford cows would probably a little less expensive to buy maybe. Might not be as many of them at one time though. It may take a while to put together a large group of red cows, in some places.I had been thinking about going to the Black Baldies for a while. What is better a black angus bull to the hereford cow or the hereford bull to the black angus cow for breeding?
I would say this though if buying commercial black cows some could be red carriers and a Hereford bull would throw some red calves in that situation.
Most registered American Angus do not have red carriers so with Angus bull over red cows your pretty well likely to get all BWF calves.
That said they ain’t nothin wrong with Hereford Red Angus crosses either.
