Modern Ag Predator 10" rotary cutter

Been in the market for a pull type cutter for 3 or 4 months. Looking for one below $5k, preferably $4k, but arent many in that range that look at all decent. (Im cheap, I know.)

Stumbled upon a Modern Ag brand Predator model. Its a 10' cut, pull type. Exactly what im looking for, but never heard of the brand, nor have I ever seen galvanized attachments. In theory, it sounds great.

Instead of paint, its galvanized. Looks to be in pretty good shape plus its in my price range. The only visible rust from pics is the hydraulic cylinders body.

Assuming I can see it operate and functionality checks out, any reason to steer clear of this brand or implement?

Welding on galvanized steel is some nasty and dangerous stuff for the welder.

What I was going to say about the welding, also. What I have welded galvanized put out a green nasty smoke that will kill you without protection.

I have their 12’ batwing. Have only had it for a little over a year. No issues, seems well made to me. Price was cheaper than Rhino or Bush Hog. I believe they are manufactured in Beaumont, TX. They’ve been around for many years.

I have run a 15ft Land Pride 540 pto batwing for a while for mowing ditches and along fences. I have even used it as a stalk mower. Its width can be a draw back at times with mowing along fences, though it gets the job done a lot quicker for mowing down corn stalks. I recommend the batwing because if you have a ditch you can stick the wing down in it besides having to try to drive in it. The batwing will move with the ground (to an extent) making it easier to mow over rolling hills or rises and lows in your pasture or field. Overall Land pride makes a durable mower. Probably something you could not find under 5k but still something to consider.
