Here in Michigan we're at 0 to -15 for the week (not sure the wind chill). I'm looking out at the cattle that have hills and tree lines if they want them - though they don't seem to be making use of them choosing instead to set up camp on top of a bald faced hill. I'm wondering how long the auto-waterers can hang in there before they freeze. It's really quite brutal to watch. I'm crowding the idea that this might be my last winter putting myself through this nonsense. However, I know there are cattle and producers in other states and geographies that deal with worse for longer. Hats off to you both! No idea how you do it.

Michigan here as well current temp -22°, current wind chil -55°. Cattle are someplace hunkered down in the woods. I feel bad for them in weather like this.

Currently -25°, with -52° wind chill here. Doesn't actually feel to bad if dressed for it. Got all our cattle in shelter though.

Here in Illinois it was only -4 for a high-24 with the windchill so not as bad as some places. Only two frozen automatic drinkers yesterday. 2 out of 15, not too bad. I got the great idea yesterday that if I had to deal with this more I would invest in a pop up ice fishing shanty to put over me and the water fountain while I thaw it out.
The heifers and their babies are spoiled. The cows with calves have to go find a draw or hill to get behind.

Temp is -26° this morning, wind chill still -40 something. Drinkers all still working as designed.
I put wood in the stove this morning but that's as far as I've gotten in my outdoor chores. Cows need feeding and at least a foot of snow needs plowing, but my motivation is lacking in this weather.

Sun makes ALL the difference. Sadly, as you know, much of Michigan doesn't see that either due to the lakes. The real issue isn't the cold or even the lake effect snow, it's the lake effect clouds I think.
