Been a really nice couple of weeks, winter wasn't terrible down here even with the snowstorm of the century down here.

I figured I would share some photos of some of the bred heifers. These are really uniform, might be 100# difference from high to low in this group. (13 head)

What does everyone think? We used Tehama Tahoe on all the heifers that were directly related to him, used a new bull Sydgen Southland on the 3 Tahoe daughters.

Yeah I need to repatch those two heifers. I will probably do that this weekend. Some took to the AI in January and obviously those two didnt..

These are all going to be retained, so looking forward to how they progress as cows.

What did everyone else us AI on heifers this fall or this spring?

S Architect and Deep Creek Square Deal. Just starting but looking good so far. The first two Architect daughters have calved.

S Wrangler 830. Came small, early and really vigorous little calves. Starting to get chunky at 2-3 weeks old.
I assume you have calved some Right Time daughters? I am curious as to how they are doing for you? Udders, maternal temperament etc.

Yes. I have 7 Right Time daughters and 5 have calved. All to Wrangler. One missed A.I. and the other I didn't catch in heat, so they are bred to the cleanup bull and haven't calved yet. They did very well. Licked their calves off and stayed with their calves for at least a day before bringing them up to get a bite of hay. Good instincts and easy to work with. Good udders on all of them and their dams are good in that department as well. I like them a lot and I intend to keep using him if for no other reason than to keep making replacement heifers.

Our bull sale is coming up March 21 and the Right Time sons generally PAP tested well and will be in the sale. Hopefully it is up on DVAuction in the next couple of days.

We absolutely love the maternal aptitude the Right Time daughters have here.
I will have to watch for them on DV. Right Time has been leased to GENEX so they have the North American semen rights from this point forward. ABS Australia still has their rights in Australia and New Zealand.

That will be nice. I was having to ship direct from World West so it was costing an extra $140 for shipping. I mostly order through Bull Barn and they should be able to get it from Genex.
