My Penelope has a lady problem. She is fat in between her udder and the inside of her thigh. This is where her skin is angry with what looks like white pus. I’m thinking of using soap and water to clean it well, getting it as dry as possible and adding a piece of gauze between the two areas. Is there something else I should be putting on it. I took this picture several days ago but it looks worse today. Any advice is welcome.

Eucerin is a cream made from wool fats and can be used as an ointment base. It is very good at waterproofing areas like that and soothing things. If you can't get that then lanolin is a more refined product of it. Don't leave it thick on the surface to have dirt stick to it, rub it in well.

Thank you, Ken. I can find Eucerin!

Food is not love. Fat cows have problems with weight just like other pets do.

There is iodine powder you can rub into the raw area. I've used it between toes when they chaff.
She came to me fat and we’ve been on a mission to lose 200 lbs ever since. Thanks for the iodine powder tip, her toes and right above her hooves seem to be chafing too.

Speaking of toes…….I used to have a bad problem with athletes foot and chaffing between my toes (I eventually figured out that if I did an epsom salt soak once a week in the summertime, I didn't have that problem).

Until I figured out the proper preventative measures for me, I was trying all manner of store bought powders and creams. Nothing worked as good as lance-leaved plantain. Crush the leaves into a poultice and wedge it between the toes. Relief and healing begins immediately.

Fortunately it's plentiful around here during the time of year I needed it. Sorry for the rabbit trail.

LOL... maybe I should have specified "cow" toes.

But that's interesting about the plantain.
