When I rebuilt the corral I developed a much higher respect for the old guys who built it to start with. I dug those rocks with an excavator. They did it by hand. Of course being 40-50 feet from the river should be a hint as to what is below the surface. We have miles and miles of stone fences still standing around here. I dont need any proof that those guys were tougher than me, but those fences still remind me all the time.
The one mistake I made while doing this work is that I should have run the fines over a sluice of some sort. There is gold here. I don't have gold fever but I did already have it dug out of the ground.
