Enough to green up the pastures (and weeds). Never thought I'd be so happy to see messy/watery grass-butt on my cattle! One of the springs is running and that creek has a fair amount of water. Watershed is up about 3ft, which is a huge improvement and due primarily to runoff. Ponds, not so much. There's a little mud hole in the east 80. I moved the heifers from the west 80 so haven't really paid attention to it lately. South pond still has water, but the creek that feeds it only has a few pockets of water. That said, not necessarily a bad thing because we're having the dam completely redone in that pond and he's even going to pull out all the stumps of the trees that were cut down (gotta take advantage of the situation).

Got hydraulic seal replaced and the tree moved only to discover 20 feet the access road I had built last year was washed away - damn! Spent a day and a half clearing brush off of the old dam upstream from the crossing to use it for access instead. Geez! That was quite the chore but I'm happy to say that I did gain access (cleared that bad boy down to where I can maintain it with a weedeater - that took a LOT of brush removal folks) to the back side of our place - and have sprayed all but about 10 acres of it - first time that pasture has ever been sprayed to my knowledge - lots of good grass but lots of PITA stuff as well. Once I finish that, I can spray another little 10 acre patch near the house when it dries out a little. Then, it will be back to cutting up about 10 downed trees (about half on fences). And the chicken litter man needs to come spread the 90 tons of chicken litter he dropped off almost a month ago. It's a shame it wasn't on the ground for the recent rains but getting chicken litter delivered and spread around here is like pulling teeth. Currently in the process of getting a scope of work & bid for repairing the access road - adding a second culvert beside the first one. After the spray on the back side of the place has had a chance to do its thing, that 30 acres will have to be mowed. Brush around pond to be cleared and check integrity of fences making repairs as needed along the way - lots more brush cutting to do along with that - still playing catch up - sigh. No rest for the weary, I suppose. Looks like I'm in for a long summer.

It was just a joke my brother used to tell me. I've never smoked anything but tobacco, but my brother used to grow that whacky tobaccy and smoke it. He used to tell me the way to roll those extra fat ones was to take the couple of blank pages from a well-bound Bible and use those. I reckon it was a poor joke. I own a Bible myself, a few of them. I don't take notes in them, though. I spend 75% of all business hours these days either outside or in a truck out in the "out" so I just think on whatever it is I was left to chew on.

My chicken litter is still in a pile, it was supposed to be spread two weeks ago.
