Richnm, you have to realize things are just bigger and better in Nebraska, and NEFarmWife ain't no exception https://journalstar.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/man-tried-to-open-account-at-lincoln-bank-with-m/article_e9f38782-64d4-5756-9400-caebd567606f.html

"Flipper" Dang that is cold hearted. If I were Richnm, I wouldn't worry too much, put that boy on the range and them feet will be fine, the rocks and such will take em down like an emory board in no time.

To retain, or not to retain ?

It's ok to say they are "awesome" because if they are awesome to you, that's all that matters.

To retain, or not to retain ?

When I hear someone say that they culled their "Awesome cows" I can pretty much be certain that they wasn't that awesome, hehe! More like awesome in a 5 mile radius.

I doubt Sydney Kidman was lugging around a feed sack and baling hay when he was running 200k head of cattle. They either made it or died. This is the way cattle should be raised again now that things have changed.

Is it important to have shelter for young calves outside, if so why?

your just ruining your cattle by giving them shelter. If you loose a few calves because of bad weather, then they were probably the ones that needed to be culled anyway. Only the strong deserve space in the pasture.

Well at least we can agree on one thing any form of grain is BAD! I see a trend in the cattle business not to even feed hay, to see how long they can go before they just can't push through another day, I don't think that's a half bad idea considering that hay is expensive. One things for sure it...

I agree with Caustic Burno, an animal that needs feed in a sack is a problem, and also agree with Ebenezer and Sim Ang King when it comes down to basic math, if you have to feed em, you ain't making money. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that cattle that need anymore than what they can...

I think ole President, the real one that is, weighed 1690 as yearling, according to SAV. Branded must have had his on grass only at 1320, hehe! Maybe he should learn how to feed em like the big boys and they might start weaning past 1000, and past 1600 as a yearling. Still not impressed with...

Branded has a post on Instagram that shows a President bull at 1320 pounds as a yearling. I'm not impressed. Maybe if he'd been 1700-1800 pounds at 12 months, but 1320 ain't bragging rights in my book. He should have gained at least 5-6 pounds a day. He's a long ways from Farmwife whose doing...
